Our company is a leading manufacturer of forklift truck attachments in Europe. As from January 2009, we will strengthen our market position in Asia by starting up a new build plant in Xiamen Haicang Investment zone. For this reason, we are searching for an experienced Production Engineer to provide support for factory production line.
Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide support for factory production line. The candidate is also responsible for manufacturing engineering projects including process improvement, quality improvement, layouts, and documentation.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage introduction of new products and new production lines.
- Develop ways to reduce labour and material costs and improve productivity while working with production and quality departments.
- Develop and implement productivity improvement and cost reduction projects
- Document and certify manufacturing processes, including creation of work instruc-tions.
- Improve machine reliability/reduce downtime.
- Specifies and works with vendors and manufacturing staff on the installation and maintenance of production equipment
- Provides technical advice and troubleshooting.
- Implementation of maintenance programs for production equipment
- Provide technical training to quality and production department workers related process, quality, productivity improvements, automation, and new process introduc-tions.
- Work as a team player and be willing to perform tasks outside of the day-to-day op-erations environment.
Requirements:
- At least 5years relevant experience in PRC manufacturing background
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 3-5 years experience in an engineering role in manufacturing or product design work-ing in engine building environment, including CNC-controlled milling and welding ma-chines.
- Good understanding of metal-machining.
- Good understanding of lean manufacturing processes
- Good problem solving skills, good teamwork skills, and good communication skills.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word-processing, SAP-MM/PPS is required.
- Knowledge of English and Mandarin language with both written and verbal skills.
